I have long believed that traveling, and with that discovery, is the biggest harbinger of harmony and unity amongst people.
I have always been fascinated to find out that no matter where you go, may that be the beautifully barren landscape of Patagonia, to the jungle forests of Borneo, concrete jungle of Chicago, to cultured and old Europe, people always have the same dreams. They want to have a loving and supportive family and group of friends, healthy children with opportunities for their future, they want to have a comfortable home with tasty food on their plates, they want to laugh, experience and enjoy life.
Traveling shows you that despite our many differences – culture, race, religion, economic status, history, etc. – we are still people with the same hopes and dreams. Thus, we’re one. No different from one another.
This can especially be seen with children. The year I backpacked around the world, it was to my astonishment that I became aware that children all around the world are all the same. They’re uninhibited, filled with love and laughter and just want to play with you. It made me wonder what happens to us afterwards when we grow up that makes us sometimes so disrespectful of each other?
Traveling is the best school one could have. It dispels fear and hatred of one another, for you realize that as citizens of this world, we’re all actually very, very similar. Traveling lets you experience love and understanding for one another.

Hi - liked your opinions on restaurants. Have you tried Le Pont de Vie at 26 Kandahar Street or Halia at the botanical gardens - these are two of my favourites.
