KinestAsia 2010 - Rhythm of Asia

Corinne, Rizal and Munir rocked the crowd last night at the KinestAsia 2010 Festival in front of the Asian Civilizations Museum.  Beautiful setting for an evening of chilled out music and major unwinding after a long work week.

Organized by Timbre, this festival runs on Jun 25-26 and July 2-3.  And if you missed Corinne … there are still plenty of great shows to see in the coming days.

After another massive downpour this morning, the stage is finally back up and on dry land ... So that we can begin our sound check ... Yeah

 

Musaic 2010

The Musaic education conference is all about encouraging active participation through singing, playing, moving and improvising.

Corinne did a couple of choral singing workshops for the teachers covering breathing exercises, melodies and songs in 4-part harmony. What a great and talented group that was :-)

The conference was organized by Pat's Schoolhouse.

June 10 - Club Acoustica @ Nikoi

Doing the Club Acoustica ... under the stars show on Nikoi is always glorious!

As last time, we first did a show for a local school on Bintan Island in support of The Island Foundation, which was setup by Nikoi.  This time we had gorgeous kids from two schools from the northern part of the island ... a local muslim and a public school.  Smiles, curiosity and joy ... especially when Corinne did the hokey-pokey with them.  Kids are instinctively drawn to music … and Corinne and her guitar are always a hit.  But what we didn't expect is that the kids would serenade her.  They sang a local song which was totally impressive!

The whole experience was overwhelming ... and hot!

   

Thursday night it was show time on Nikoi.  This time we decided to do the show in the central dining area.  The tables were moved, bean bags were placed on the sand and Corinne's stage was marked with candles and flowers, with a screen behind her.  Gorgeous!

Besides doing a medley of old-time favourites and some songs from MELT ... Corinne did something she hasn't done in ages ... took requests!  These are her own words ... 'I'm amazed how I can remember songs from way back then, but forget to pay my phone bill!'

KinestAsia Festival

Corinne will be performing at the KinestAsia Festival in Singapore on June 25 around 22:00 at the Asian Civilizations Museum.  Join us for a great evening with Corinne and many other great performers ... all part of the fantastic Singapore River Festival.

Best of all ... admission is FREE :-)

LIVE Performing Artists Conference

Today was the opening of the LIVE! Singapore 2010 Global Performing Arts Exchange conference at Resorts World.  That place is so huge that we got lost trying to find the conference centre :-)

There are not that many opportunities to meet fellow professional performing artists all in one place and exchange ideas, concepts ... and simply network.  So Corinne and I took advantage of this event and headed to the opening of the conference.

And we had a brilliant networking day!  Always love coming home with lots of business cards :-)  We talked with various festival organizers, artist management companies, caught up with Samuel Seow - THE entertainment lawyer in town! - and finally met the admin staff from the Singapore Chinese Orchestra with whom we would love to collaborate.

Unfortunately we're going to miss the next few days of the conference for we're going to Nikoi Island for our Club Acoustica performance ... under the stars (although we're not complaining about this gig ... for we're going to paradise!!)  But if you can get tix to the conference ... definitely go.  Besides some great workshops there will also be several performances from young up-and-company talents from all over the world.
